Schools are a reflection of what we value as a society. A Little Patch of Earth sits on one and a half acres of green, open space and under a deep canopy of majestic oaks. We have eight gardens, a chicken coop and a variety of animal habitats. Both the indoor and outdoor classrooms provide a host of Studio experiences from construction and yoga, to the language of food and a Library; not to mention dozens of developmentally enriched learning environments.
The mud pit, river, and sand box, along with the Studio space, is just a sampling of how our “Patch” values childhood. The beauty of A Little Patch of Earth speaks volumes in how we celebrate the “hundred languages of children” and the many ways they express all that is meaningful as they come to learn more about themselves and the world they live in.
